국립남도국악원의 지역 문화원형 무대화에 대한 연구 : 진도씻김굿을 중심으로

초록

본 연구는 진도씻김굿과 채정례본 씻김굿의 개괄적 내용을 살핀 후, 남도 민속 문화인 씻김굿에 대한 활용과 레퍼토리 개발 양상을 국립남도국악원을 통해 분석한 것이다. 이에 본 연구자는 국립남도국악원이 채정례본 씻김굿을 토대로 제작된 <국립남도국악원 씻김굿>과 <굿극-씻금>을 비교 분석하였다. <국립남도국악원 씻김굿>과 <굿극-씻금>은 채정례본 씻김굿과 굿의 연행에서 유사성이 있지만 무대화 작업을 통해 씻김굿의 원형과 특질을 유지하면서 연극적 요소를 수용한 서사구조와 연희적 요소의 강조를 통해 대중화에 한발 다가가려고 노력한 점이 특징적이다. 이러한 <국립남도국악원 씻김굿>과 <굿극-씻금>의 변용과 창작 행위는 지역문화 활용 콘텐츠 개발에 성공적 사례라 할 수 있으며, 남도민속 문화의 전승과 레퍼토리 확장의 가능성을 열어주었다.

Abstract

Sitgim Gutis a shamanistic ritual to appease the soul of ancestors. In this study, we aim to study the application patterns and repertoire development of National Jindo Gugak Center Sigim Gut which is the folk culture of southern provinces by the Jindo National Gugak Center with following a general view of Jindo Sitgim Gut and Chaejeongrye Sitgim Gut. In this study, we compared the National Jindo Gugak Center Sigim Gut with Gutgeuk-Sitgeum in which both are produced by the Jindo National Gugak Center by incorporating Chaejeongrye Sitgim Gut. The two versions show similarities in a aspect of following the order of performance from the Chaejeongrye Sitgim Gut as the originality, but the center tried to take a step closer to popularizing the ritual by narratives and performance while maintaining the original form and characteristics of the Sitgim Gut through staged work. These effort of creative transformation leads successful development of local cultural contents and opens the possibility of succeeding traditional folk culture of southern provinces and expanding the repertoire.
