중견무용수들의 한국전통춤 무대 경험 내러티브 연구

본 연구는 한국전통춤을 토대로 다양한 무용콘텐츠 개발을 통해 끊임없이 혁신 및 발전시키고 있는 중견무용수를 바탕으로 이들의 한국전통춤에 대한 가치확장성을 탐색하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이에 서울시에서 추진하는 지원사업의 기준을 바탕으로 중견무용수 5인을 연구 참여자로 선정하였으며, 심층면담을 통한 연구 참여자의 경험으로부터 심층적 이해를 돕기 위해 내러티브 연구방법을 활용하였다. 따라서 도출된 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 무대라는 곳은 중견무용수 시점에서 자유로운 공간으로 인식하고 있었고, 한국전통춤에 각자가 지닌 자신만의 이야기를 담아 작품을 풀어내는 것을 분석할 수 있었다. 둘째, 중견무용수들은 무대 위 ‘현장인’으로서 다채로운 무대를 고사(考査)하여 스스로 발전해 나가는 것을 분석할 수 있었다. 셋째, 중견무용수에게 있어 한국전통춤의 공연수행은 행보(行步)를 거듭하여 다양한 수용을 통해 진화(進化)하는 무대로 만들어 가는 것을 분석할 수 있었다. 이에 중견무용수는 빠르게 변화하는 현시대와 나란히 마주하여 새로운 콘텐츠 개발을 지속적으로 시도해 진화하는 무대를 만들어 가는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 한국전통춤이라는 주체를 통해 시대 및 상황에 따라 달라지는 가변성으로부터 한국전통춤 활성화에 지대한 영향을 미칠 것이라 사료되고, 이에 있어 중견무용수들의 한국전통춤 가치확장성의 가능성은 무궁무진하다 판단되다. 앞으로 중견무용수에 관한 경험 중심 연구 사례에 보탬이 되길 바라며, 이와 더불어 연구 대상 범위의 확장을 위한 기초자료로 활용되길 기대하는 바이다.

The purpose of this study is to explore the value expandability of Korean traditional dance based on middle-aged dancers who are constantly innovating and developing through the development of various dance contents based on Korean traditional dance. Accordingly, five middle-aged dancers were selected as research participants based on the standards of the support project promoted by Seoul City, and a narrative research method was used to facilitate an in-depth understanding of the research participants' experiences through in-depth interviews. Therefore, the conclusions drawn are as follows. First, the stage was perceived as a free space from the point of view of a mid-level dancer, and it was possible to analyze how each dancer told their own story in traditional Korean dance. Second, middle-aged dancers were able to analyze their own development by considering various stages as ‘field experts’ on stage. Third, it was possible to analyze that for mid-level dancers, the performance of Korean traditional dance is a stage that evolves through various acceptances through repeated steps. As a result, middle-aged dancers were able to create an evolving stage by continuously trying to develop new content in line with the rapidly changing current times. In addition, it is believed that the subject of Korean traditional dance will have a great influence on the revitalization of Korean traditional dance from the variability that changes according to the times and circumstances, and in this regard, the potential for the expansion of the value of Korean traditional dance by middle-aged dancers is endless. In the future, we hope that it will be useful for experience-based research cases on middle-aged dancers, and it is also hoped that it will be used as basic data for expanding the scope of research.
